Garden Shed Landing with Repurposed Bricks

A member of my local Buy Nothing group posted garden pavers. Everything listed on Buy Nothing is free, so I jumped at the chance. I am always on the lookout for free materials I can reuse in the garden.

When I arrived to pick up the pavers, I discovered they were brick pavers and not the larger stepping stones I envisioned. I left the pavers there and carried on running errands. I kept turning over ideas for how I might use the pavers, but couldn’t land on anything.

On my way home I went back and picked up a few pavers, figuring I would eventually find a use for them. As soon as I got home I started unloading the pavers and decided to create a small landing for my garden shed. I had few stepping stones left over from another project that I assumed would be the focus with a few pavers around them. Next thing I knew I was driving back to pick up a lot more pavers. Like, a lot lot more.

What started as a small landing grew into something more interesting and substantial. I have finished laying out the general design. I still need to add mulch and tidy up with a few finishing touches. Even as it is it’s prettier, cleaner and will require less weeding!

I’m all for planning, but more and more I appreciate diving in and tinkering around until the pieces fall into place and you end up with something you wouldn’t have imagined.
